All Things New Again

With spring just around the corner I see the rebirth of flowers starting to bud out. It is like a new beginning with spectacular visions to come. In the spirit of renewal I had my hair cut. It is shorter than I usually have it but I love it. I'm sure you ladies know how it makes you feel when you get a new do. I have actually got comments about how it makes me look younger. I will take anything I can get. Actually when I tell people how old I am they say that I don't look like it. I had a pretty good weekend this past one. I got to go to a concert and I got to see my grandson.
It is the second time I have seen him since he was born and he will 1 in June. You know when you have children and grandchildren it is a renewal.
When I get the pictures downloaded into my computer I will post a picture of my beautiful grandson.

The Big Five Oh

My brother on March 6 turned the big five oh, yep he is now 50 years old. I took him out for his bday. We went to see this group called the Australian BeeGee's at the Beau Rivage Casino in our neck of the woods. I had never heard of them before but they were good. They sounded just like the original Bee Gee's. My nephew that is in the picture with him above also went along with his girlfriend.

Needless to say my nephew fell asleep. It was dark in there and it was not the type of music he normally listens to.

But we all had a good time.

I will be posting regularly now. I had to get me another computer and get internet again. I was going through internet withdrawal and I did not like that. You just feel cut off from everything.

Born In The Wrong Time

Do you ever feel that you were born in the wrong time. I do sometimes. I love the pre war South. Sure I would miss the modern conveniences like air condtioning and the washer and dryer. I think that the way women dressed back then made you feel feminine. You knew who was a man and who was a woman. There was no guessing. I have seen people that I honestly couldn't tell if it was male or female. I love the dresses of those times but you know what is funny? I do not even own a dress.

I know I haven't written much but I do not have internet right now and things are not going so good in my personal life right now. I will getting things straightened out pretty soon.

I am going to go for now. I'll try not to wait so long in writing again.

Christmas Is Coming

Christmas is the time that my family all get together and celebrate. We usually do it on Christmas Eve but as I have to work that night we are going to do it Christmas night instead. We have not exchanged gifts in a couple of years because we are to many and can not afford it. One day we might start back. So we just get together for a party and spend time together. So far the only gift I have gotten is just one. Christmas is my favorite holiday because I love looking at the decorations and the spirit of the holiday. I know that some people spend way too much on gifts for their children which I think is crazy. I buy my children one big gift ( not necessarily monetary ) and several to put under the tree and they are just as happy with that as if I had spent a million bucks. It should not be about the money you spend on a gift but the feelings of love, excitment and caring in considering the gift that should matter. After all Christmas is about love and celebrating the birth of Jesus or at least it should be.

There might be some people who disagree with me but that is their right.
What is your thoughts on this subject? Do you think that people have lost the meaning of what Christmas is really all about?
